On April 9th I met my daughter, Sarah, in Houston. She is an avid birder, and as her graduation present, we made our way down to Featherfest in Galveston. Over the next three days we saw 141 species of birds (20 of which were life birds for her). Congratulations on your Bachelors of Science, with a Biology major Sarah, we are very proud of you!

Bellingrath Gardens are located just up the road in Theodore Alabama. On Easter Sunday we spent the afternoon exploring the spring gardens.

What a great 10 days! Although the flight from Mississippi to Maui was 13 hours long, and took three connections, we met up with friends from Vancouver and had a wonderful adventure in paradise! The weather was the coldest and wettest on record, but we still managed to have a blast exploring the island. Thanks Sandra, Peter, Patti and Keith for incredible memories!

We are very lucky to live in such a beautiful location on the Gulf of Mexico, where we get to witness spectacular sunsets. Weeks Bayou is just a few minutes from where we live, and a favourite spot to visit.

In February a friend and I spent three days in Las Vegas. One of the highlights of the trip, besides the food and company, was visiting the Neon Sign Museum. Although we visited the museum during daylight hours, and none of the signs were lit, the graphic nature of the old, rusting signs made fantastic subjects. Lets do it again Debbie!

In January I had some fun doing some long exposure rear curtain sync flash photography. Although I appear in the first photo, both pictures were shot using a tripod and timed exposure, allowing me to appear in the image.

Since the weather has not been very cooperative these past few weeks, I decided to embark on a four week flower study. Here are some images from this study.

A photo from a windy, cloudy walk on East Beach, Ocean Springs, Mississippi. This beach is just a 15 minute drive west of us.

Merry Christmas to all our friends and family back home in Canada. Here are a few photos of the lights at Bellingrath Gardens about 45 minutes north east of us. They had a wonderful display.

Before Christmas we took our daughters to Dauphine Island, one of the barrier islands off the coast of Alabama. It is a wonderful place for birdwatching. Here are a few shots from that day.
